NCIA is supporting a new campaign to re-establish community development as a challenging process for people to address their needs and fulfil their aspirations. Come to the launch event at Reading International Solidarity Centre on 7 March 2011, 10am – 3pm. Click here to book now.

These are difficult times for the community sector as the pressure and effects of funding reductions and cuts increase. It is time for community development to rediscover and re-assert its critical, independent stance and embody its values of equality, co-operation and social justice.

This is the start of the campaign. Come to the event if you can help to:
•    Finalise and add to the campaign documents
•    Plan the action

Book now for this free event – click here to download the booking form (Word document).

You can attend the following workshops:

  1. Mobilising the community development movement – action planning for the campaign.
  2. Building the links within and between communities – cuts and inequalities: the community development contribution.
  3. Community development and community organising.

The event is funded by: Every Voice Counts, The South East Empowerment Partnership, and The Federation for Community Development and Learning
