Assembly

We meet four times a year as the NCIA assembly to share experiences, get ideas and guide our direction.

The assembly is open to people who are pursuing independent action in the voluntary and community sector – in their local area or on a particular issue. The assembly includes activists, researchers, volunteers and paid workers. Many of the people who find their way to us do so as individuals rather than as representatives of an organisation or group.

The assembly:

  • provides opportunities for people to share ideas about their concerns and interests and understand that they are not alone and are amongst friends and allies
  • provides opportunities for NCIA to listen to what’s going on in the field, check if our work is going in the right direction and get ideas to support our work
  • introduces people who are thinking of getting more involved in NCIA to the way we work collectively

Members of the assembly are welcome to attend the NCIA planning group and can request any planning group papers. Contact info@independentaction.net  if you would like to come along.
