NCIA urges eveyone who wants to protect the welfare state and close the gap between haves and have nots to make your way to London this Saturday. There’s some sensible advice about how to get there, at what time, and what to bring (food, water, waterproofs) on the march for the alternative website. Read on for NCIA’s demo rules, to download a DIY NCIA placard and some conviviality zone shenanigans…
NCIA demo rules
1. March with your mates
2. Make your own placard
Er, that’s it.
NCIA placard
If you don’t want to follow the NCIA rules (independent action and all that), we’ve designed an NCIA placard to print out at home. Eat your heart out Kirsty Allsop – we know the real meaning of the do-it-yourself ethos.
Click here to download the dissent protects democracy placard. It’s a PDF file with 5 pages. The first page is a small A4 version and the next 4 pages are a larger tiled version that you can stick together like a jigsaw.
Conviviality zones
If placard-waving isn’t your thing, how about creating a conviviality zone on the march? A flask of tea, a couple of spare cups and some chat with your fellow marchers should do the trick. But we’re sure you’ve got your own ideas for how to make the march convivial! After all, what’s the point of independent action if we have to be serious all the time? If you take photos, send us your best ones and we’ll put them on the website.
Happy marching!
